Wedding Tips and Trends from Parker Palm Springs
“If I get married, I want to be very married.”
— Audrey Hepburn
Weddings are one of life’s great celebrations. A day of shared unions, of families and friends coming together to witness an intertwining of lives, hopes, and dreams. For the betrothed, it is a day to be both enjoyed in the moment and cherished forever.
As one of the most exclusive wedding venues in Palm Springs, our private, thirteen-acre estate offers an incomparable indoor/outdoor setting ensuring a memorable day worthy of the love you share. Known as the best boutique hotel in Palm Springs, our rooms, suites, and villas offer the perfect blend of style, luxury, and convenience for you and your guests.
The secret to a great wedding, according to Randy Araiza, Director of Catering, is clear communication and seamless planning. “Parker Palm Springs is more than just an amazing venue, we become your partners in the wedding, with you and your wedding planner.” Randy says she and her team are with you the entire day. “From pre-ceremony cocktails, to walking down the aisle, to the last dance, we are there in the background ensuring everything goes smoothly.”
Randy’s Wedding Tips
Visit your venue well in advance
Randy recommends visiting up to a year before your wedding date. “We’re touring everybody right now who wants to get married in April next year,” she says. “They want to come and see what the weather is like, feel the sunshine, see where the sunset falls, and understand the layout of our estate and gardens. It’s a very smart thing to do.”
Also, guests are now becoming flexible with availability, which has opened up more potential dates for weddings. “People love that they have the opportunity to get married on a Friday and still have the weekend to enjoy the estate because there’s so much to do here,” Randy says.
Local wedding planners are invaluable
Work with a wedding planner who knows the property and the local area. “Our Great Lawn can accommodate large, tented weddings of up to 250 people,” Randy says. “We’ve even had Ferris wheels and hot air balloons.”
Big beautiful weddings, the kinds you see in magazines are very popular these days. Having local connections can help things go smoothly. “Palm Springs has some amazing professional wedding planners and their knowledge will ensure you get the type of wedding you want,” Randy says.
Take time creating your guest list
Knowing how many people you expect to attend is an important early step in wedding planning. Having an approximate number is a good place to start – a 250-person wedding will have far different needs than a 50-person wedding. “The size of the guest list should match your vision for the wedding,” Randy says.
The number of people travelling to the wedding and how many will need accommodations is another important factor. “There is something special about a full, on-property wedding experience,” Randy says. “It is more joyous because people can really relax. It’s also a great comfort for the happy couple knowing that their guests are taken care of.”
2025 Wedding Trends
Parker Palm Springs is a trendsetting wedding destination and Randy has seen first-hand what is popular this year. Here are some wedding ideas to consider.
Lush Gardens: More than just a pretty backdrop, gardens create an intimate and authentic vibe, telling a story and offering a cool, laid-back atmosphere.
Private Vows: Couples are embracing the intimacy of sharing their vows privately before the ceremony.
Color Palette: Natural, earthy tones like terracotta, olive, and sunlit gold are being combined with refreshing ocean blues and crisp whites.
Polished Stationery: Designs that are Instagram-worthy stand out and make a statement.
Less Structured, More Meaningful: Some weddings are moving away from a strict itinerary and focusing more on meaningful moments.
Italian Wedding Cakes: This timeless favorite is making a comeback.
Audio Guest Books: A fresh twist on the traditional guest book allows people to leave voice messages for the happy couple.
Live Artists: Sketch artists and painters provide a creative touch for the event.
Grazing Tables: Elevated late-night snacks add elegance to casual bites.
Day-After Events: Relaxed brunches or poolside gathering offer guests opportunities to connect and unwind.
No matter what type of wedding you want, Randy says the magic is in the personal details. “Create meaningful experiences for your guests and tell your story,” she says.
